January Newsletter

Welcome to the beginning of another new year! While the end of the year usually involves giving and receiving material gifts, the new year often comes with the idea of resolutions. Sometimes these can feel shaming, stifling, or impossible to achieve. Instead of setting up unrealistic expectation of yourself in the form of a resolution, why not instead think about what gifts you plan to give yourself this year. Perhaps the gift of a regular yoga practice, the gift of positive self talk, the gift of a few minutes of silent contemplation or meditation each day. If you miss a day on the mat or slip back into old habits, instead of becoming frustrated or blaming yourself, instead reaffirm that you can always start again and focus on the times you succeed. We have several chances to start your new year right this month. Join Erin in creating a visual reminder of your goals on the 26th and Evelyn to relax and renew, leaving old outdated stress behind on the 27th. Read on for these and more opportunities to give yourself something good this year!

Join Denae Richards as she guides you through a discovery of mindfulness by way of sound meditation. Discover how the sound of gongs,Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and other instruments streamline the meditation process. Sound delivers powerful waves into your mind and body, putting you in an instant meditative trance. Your entire being elevates into a relaxed state where your mind slows & your body melts. In addition, the sound stimulates the medulla in the brain stem activating the auditory nerve that connects with all the muscles of the body. This signals the body to relax and flood the brain with natural mood lifting chemicals. This deep relaxation meditation sets the stage for healing at all levels. This workshop will begin some easy breathwork followed by 45 minutes of sound meditation where you will be lying down in a comfortable position bathed by the healing sounds of the instruments. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring anything with you to create a comfortable meditation nest – yoga mats, knee bolsters & blankets provided.
